08 Dec DECKING THE HALLS
“Christmas waves a magic wand over the world and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.” – Norman Vincent Peale
Aren’t we all dreaming of a White Christmas? Just because we live in sunny Los Angeles, doesn’t mean you can’t cozy up your home with wintery accents. We had a blast decorating and creating fresh florals for one of our favorite families for their annual party, and with hearty items they can enjoy all month long.
Have you ever!? We just about plotzed when we discovered poinsettias in hot and light pink! They couldn’t be more perfect on top of these books if they tried.
Fresh cut white orchids and lambs ear make a dreamy winter arrangement in a vintage vessel.
Keep it simple! Fresh cut evergreens mixed with candles, geodes and foo dogs incorporate objects from around the house that lend to a snowy wonderland scene.
Different shades of green and different types of cuttings create a bountiful bouquet with interesting textures.
Holiday decor can have some glitz and glam while remaining sophisticated. This is definitely the time of year to go outside the norm and bring some gilded touches of whimsy around the house.
A vintage cinnabar table with hand carved flowers is even prettier when topped with Christmas adornments.
Love the pop of pink against the hues of blue in the powder room!
My favorite discovery this season was when I found complete shells of cylindrical bark from trees. I cut them down to cover basic glass vases to give the illusion of the arrangements spilling out of cut branches.
A white sheepskin adds another layer of coziness to this sumptuous navy velvet couch.
Our brass vintage swan vase from a treasure hunt anchors the dining table. Mercury glass bowls filled with glittered pinecones are pretty throughout the season.
Mini evergreens nestled inside a Belgian beer crate make a big impact and add a rustic touch to the family room.
I do declare! Bringing a touch of the South to Southern California with a magnolia leaf garland is classic beauty at its finest. We added silk blossoms and ornaments to turn the outdoor bar into a party worthy area, and a potted poinsettia to the end of the bar for a pop of pink. Bust out the eggnog, we’re ready!
