Inspiration: Window Display

14 Jan Inspiration: Window Display

We are continuously asked about our window displays: how do we come up with them?  What is our inspiration?  We redo our windows once a month (twelve inspirational opportunities a year), and we always consider the month at hand… spiders in October, ornaments in December.  But what about January?  Not so obvious.

Chevron Print Blanket and Benjamin Moore Antique Glass

This January, we took a look around the store, at the beautiful limpid shells that just came in (many people who know me know about my current obsession).  Admiring the natural beauty of their color, we created a look around it.  Our new Sanford Design 100% comb cotton throw blankets compliment the mollusk color perfectly, as does a gorgeous linen-covered sofa just acquired.

A newly gold-leafed table, topped with Italian marble, reinvented in our studio, added the bit of glamour we needed.  It made me think of the framed painting we had back there…

 And voila!  A new window.

XO,

D.L.
