“You complete me.” You know, I never quite believed that philosophy when it comes to people. Everyone needs to complete him/herself, BUT when it comes to turkey… cranberry completes me.
Straight out of the can, fresh from the farmers’ market as a decorative object, mixed in with marshmallows, cranberries are just luscious! As the story goes, Indians greeted Europeans at the shores with bark cups full of cranberries. As far back as 1663, a recipe for cranberry sauce appeared in the Pilgrim cookbook. Both Henry David Thoreau and Edward Watson are credited for writing a poem entitled “The Cranberry Tart” in 1860. There’s a band called The Cranberries, which was very popular in the 1990′s. Me, I just love the color cranberry. I am inspired by its deep pigment, and I am looking for a way to incorporate it into a beautiful home soon. Oh, and I will be eating it come Thursday. What about you?
XO,
D.L.
