30 Jul PERFECT PRODUCTION – IV
“Create lightning bolt ideas during brainstorms by causing disturbances in your atmosphere.”
– Ryan Lilly
BEFORE | BRAINSTORM ROOM
What does every great creative office need? A brainstorm room! Sure, great ideas could arise over morning coffee talks in their kitchen, bounced around in their communal living room, or presented in their conference room. But a room to close yourself off from the world, to do nothing but create, is an amazing amenity amongst a place constantly buzzing with people.
Forget the bulletin board, and embrace the corked wall. Floor to ceiling and side to side, plenty of room to tack inspirations and story boards. A vintage military cot (love that they were made of wood, not metal) is recovered in a ticking stripe canvas with oversized pillows in one of our fave John Robshaw fabrics. Maybe the editors use it to catch some zzz’s after pulling an all nighter on a deadline. Turkish towels became giant floor pillows perfect for day dreaming.
An abstract watercolor is a nod to the organized chaos of creative thinkers. Boxes of chalk pencils and spare rolls of chalkboard paper are ready to scribbled on. A punch of color provided by this groovy watermelon metal console.
Mounted chalk board paper allows for endless ideas to be contemplated or scrapped in one fell swoop. Mid Century rockers are as hip as they are comfy. A plant for beauty and to purify the air looks right at home in a white washed basket
And when they need a view of the outside world, these indigo string chairs and rattan loungers are facing the massive windows overlooking the City of Angels. Morning, noon and night, this is the best seat in the house. Well, office rather. Did we mention how much we’d love to work here? Stay tuned for the final chapter of this Perfect Production.
