One can never have too many bathrooms in a house.  Children, pets, and many guests pass through this gorgeous home on the reg.  This historic home had bathrooms in each bedroom, but only a tiny powder room off the entry.  With traffic constantly flowing inside out to the pool and garage turned art studio, this fam was in serious need of a bathroom to handle water soaked feet and paint covered hands.  We couldn’t wait to build out this addition, and it didn’t sacrifice any space within the home. A vintage iron hook from one of our hunts was the perfect find to hold our Turkish towels.  Light weight and super absorbent, these beauties dry quickly and can double as an impromptu sarong.  A black and white sketch from our clients collection adds a bold punch to white walls.

An industrial trough sink is a great choice for an area that will get a lot of use and makes rinsing swimsuits a breeze.  Stainless steel and made in the USA, this wash basin will stand the test of time.  We loved this faucet but it only came in nickel.  With a little elbow grease, we stripped it to its brass roots.  We love to mix metals, and had fun working out the details to allow for exposed copper pipes to run up the wall.  When selecting tiles for the backsplash we fell in love with this modern update to the classic Swiss cross pattern from Ann Sachs. Floor to ceiling, these monochromatic tiles add a subtle texture and depth to an otherwise narrow room.  After searching for the perfect mirror, we opted to make a custom one with an oversized metal barrel.   Last but not least, these handmade floor tiles had us swooning.  After searching high and low, we found the perfect choice at Mission Tile, a multi generation family owned business with an amazing selection of unique patterns.  The beautiful shades of grey make the mirror pop and are a great contrast to a room bathed in white.   Stay tuned as we move onto the bedrooms in this Modern Vintage Domicile.

XO,
D.L.
