15 Sep LUXE LOUNGE LOFT
“I find I clash sometimes with people who like to plan things and book you in for lunch. I’d rather someone call me up and say ‘Are you free tonight and do you wanna go to the roller-disco? Or play pool?’ ” – Rosamund Pike
After remodeling the foyer of this Woodland Hills home, we couldn’t wait to get upstairs to the loft overlooking the ‘great room’ of the house where this family entertains on a regular basis. Throughout this remodel, we aimed to keep the mid century vibe of this 1960’s abode, but with a modern twist. The pool table had become an afterthought, and like most homeowners, the unused room became a dumping ground. The Mr. and Mrs. love hosting game nights and watching football with their friends, so we wanted to make a room that would wow both the ladies and gents. The results were tremendous. Let the games begin!
Fuchsia and brass have lots of class! A rug reminiscent of a backgammon board fit within our theme and color scheme perfectly. Track lighting was replaced with sexy and chic milky brass topped orbs from Jonathan Adler. By painting the railing and window frames a deep grey, it made a dramatic difference in updating the space while keeping the costs down.
Ever seen a pink pool table?! You know we love restoring and reinventing existing furniture any chance we get, and being able to transform a pool table was a design dream come true. If you are looking for a way to modernize that old billiards table sitting in the basement, we can have it re felted in one of thirty stunning shades.
Oh Happy Day! Our gilded words pillow exudes the vibe of this fun house and adds some extra coziness to our vintage chair reupholstered in white cow hide.
From forgotten playground…
To ultra chic game loft and lounge!
The Maxime Chairs are as sleek as they are comfortable. We love how the wide seat is juxtaposed with skinny brass details. A marble and brass cocktail table is just the spot to relax with a cocktail and a game of tic tac toe. Modern vintage at its best, this house is calling out to its guests’, come on in…and stay a while.
