24 Mar LUCID LIVING ROOM – Part I
“All rooms ought to look as if they were lived in, and to have so to say, a friendly welcome ready for the incomer.” – William Morris
BEFORE | LIVING ROOM
An interesting thing happens when families transition from having little kids who are becoming young adults and they often start to look at their homes differently. A sunny ranch nestled in the Pacific Palisades had a vast room waiting to be filled and inspired our clients to move away from the old and begin with the new (reinvented vintage). The slip covered sofa was donated making room for some fab new chairs and a game table for a family that loves to play together.
Vintage chairs we found on a hunt are given new life with an indigo batik fabric and a rich ebony stain.
BEFORE – VINTAGE TABLE AND CHAIRS
I flipped when I found this ’70’s cane and wood set and couldn’t wait to refinish it for the right client. Piped linen seats and a grey stain really brought out the beautiful grain of the wood. Bring on the games!
BEFORE | BOOKSHELVES
A well edited selection of books mixed with some vintage treasures and family heirlooms make these shelves a work of art. Mr. Kitty seems to have come out of his hiding place to enjoy this newly appointed room. Stay tuned for the second half of this giant living space next week.
