07 Jan ENTREZ VOUS
“Do not try to push your way through to the front ranks of your profession; do not run after distinctions and rewards; but do your utmost to find an entry into the world of beauty.” – Sydney Smith
They say you shouldn’t do business with family or friends, but sometimes I make an exception. When my oldest childhood friend approached me to remodel her home, I was ecstatic. A style maven in her own right and a trend forecaster for the fashion industry, she admittedly had no idea where to start. “The entry!” I exclaimed. My feeling is if you like what you see when you walk in the front door, you are going to be happy and relaxed when you get home each and every day. After 4 decades of friendship, we were ready to embark on other journey together as collaborators and doing what we do best…shopping, laughing, and discovering!
We wanted to work with the stone floor so a natural woven textile from Thibault was a no brainer! This grasscloth half natural, half silver making it the perfect match for the neutral palatte of this home and picking up the lighter tone of the stone grout . Crisp white paint on all of the doors, framing and moulding further elevates the space. What is that glorious object hanging from the ceiling you ask…
The leaded glass windows and curved arch doors were far too traditional for the lady of the house who knows what the latest and greatest trends are from week to week!
A modern new door and straight edge glass replaced the patterned windows making this clean, modern, and letting the beautiful Valley sun shine right on in.
Antiqued glass gives a vintage feel to this retro daisy mirror. Always looking for the unexpected, we created a custom one of a kind console out of mosaic ceramic tile from the Spanish Tile Company Porcelanosa. Working with the multiple colors of stone, this piece is a real show stopper and something no one else will have.
