20 Feb BREATHTAKING BEACH HOUSE – PART VII
“Every house where love abides and friendship is a guest, is surely home, and home sweet home, for there the heart can rest.” – Henry Van Dyke
BEFORE | BEACH HOUSE GUEST ROOM
Oh, to be a guest in this dreamy seaside cottage! Whether relaxing in the comfy living rooms or dining in the sun, we wanted our clients’ guests to feel as good as the owners do when retreating to their master suite. A blank slate with no storage whatsoever, we began scheming how to maximize the room. Cozy without feeling cramped was the main goal, and we were able to achieve just that.
Raffia end tables fit perfectly next to the custom headboard we made with a favorite fabric from Zac + Fox. Upholstered linen rails make the bed complete and add a cushy layer. An ombred Mongolian sheep throw warms up crisp white bedding, ready for sneaking in a mid day cat nap with sunshine from the courtyard spilling through the french doors.
Vintage textiles turned pillows are the perfect pop of color for some harmonious contrast. A feather and shell medallion hand made in Bali was a great find on one of our hunts to furnish the house. Layers and textures abound throughout the home adding comfort and interest to all who get to enjoy these quarters.
Modern chrome sconces make the perfect reading lights and allow space for fresh florals and one of our yummy candles. Coffee beans and juniper berries are a hearty choice for flora in winter months. Our best selling bone tray protects the night stand from wear and tear and bedside beverages.
BEFORE | GUEST ROOM BEACH HOUSE
The opposite wall of this room was begging for storage as this room didn’t have a closet.
How’s that for built in storage!? With cabinets to hang clothes and some to store linens, and plenty of drawers so you don’t have to live out of your suitcase. Forget the hotel, we want to shack up here for the weekend. We know whoever is staying here, isn’t going to want to leave…we never do. Stay tuned for the next part of our breathtaking beach house.
